Phosphate is hydrated, with a number of water molecules associated with each molecule of Zinc Phosphate in the crystal structure. Delaphos is supplied as the Dihydrate form (Delaphos 2, 2M) or the Tetrahydrate form (Delaphos 4).
Delaphos is a pigment that inhibits metal surface corrosion when properly incorporated into a wide variety of solvent-based and water-based paint primer systems. Best performance is obtained with a typical loading of 5 to 12% by weight of the total formulation and a PVC ranging from 20% to 40%.
